BACK   In this sketch, the bird on the right is soaking and has noticed his towel has fallen off the rim of the birdbath where it was hanging. I added the towel on the left to explain why the towel is on the ground...that towels are always hanging on the rim of the bath. The trouble was, I didn't know how to connect the bird with the towel. It has to be his; otherwise, his pose and where he's looking draw too much attention to the cat. The cat is supposed to be just background--just the birdbath pedestal. In the end, I abandoned the idea of a fallen towel. I exchanged the towel for a sunbathing bird...a much better idea than the towel anyway. I wasn't that keen on the cannonballer, though... he seemed to be lying down on the job, so to speak. It isn't clear that he's going to actually land in the birdbath either.
