HOME Back to the SKETCHBOOK Final Version In case you're wondering about the red lines in the sketch: Those are made by a red rollerball pen that I use to transfer the image, via homemade graphite transfer paper, from the final sketch to the "good paper". The rollerball provides the pressure, and the red ink makes it easier to see where I've been. You'll notice I don't go over each strand of hair with the red pen...the hairs somehow manage to find themselves as the painting progresses.
