The above page from my sketchbook shows how, originally, I had the cow still on the up part of the jump. I didn't like any of the sketches because I wasn't sure where the cow was relative to the moon. It was much more clear that the cow was jumping over the moon after I drew the cow having already cleared the moon and on her way back (and down) to earth.
