	Sizewise, this is typical of the thumbnail sketches in my sketchbook, although most are a lot rougher than this one [the view above, top to bottom, is about 2.5 inches (approx. 6.5 cm.)]. You'll notice the rather prominent "C" -- I always do that to make finding the thumbnail much easier. The letter itself is almost always lighter than the design inside, and to try and find a letter design idea in a sketchbook of thumbnails is very difficult (if I can find it at all -- there are many thumbnails on most pages). 'Way back when, I didn't do this and there are no doubt many unremembered or unfound thumbnails in those old sketchbooks. Many times, when I'm going back through my sketchbook looking for a thumbnail/sketch for my next letter project, I will see a thumbnail that will spark an idea for a different letter, sometimes with a completely different shape or, as in this case, another approach to the same basic idea.
